There seems to be quite a few people losing focus these days. I'm not sure why - maybe it's the weather.
Personally I have been pretty good with my maintenance. I had lost about 10 pounds more than my goal weight and that's where I've been maintaining, and I feel pretty good about it. But I know it's difficult for many of you.
This board has been very quiet lately. Please pop in and let us know how you're doing.

Rita, do you really think peole are losing focus?? All I know that with Core, maintainence is a BREEZE. There have been a few times where I let go and used all my WPA's (plus some) all at once, but then I just get right back to 100% Core foods for a few days and my weight is right back to where I want it to be!!!
To be honest, I do want to lose another 5 lbs., but I'm having so much fun maintaining that I haven't really tried to lose any more. The key for me is my weekly WW meetings. The really help me stay focused on my desire to keep this weight off forever. ;D Monica

I think this easier and easier with time....I've been on this for almost a year (staff got it earlier). I absolutely love it and feel so free after 26 years of weighing and measuring and tracking every bite. I love being able to be able to trust myself with portions and I love never being hungry because I ran out of points. There were a few days (maybe at Thanksgiving time) when we had several events where there were not many CORE foods available and I had a few extra WPA's, but most of the time this just feels great. I think the "honeymoon" phase usually lasts about 6 months, and maybe it seems like a lot of people are losing focus because it is about that amount of time they have been doing CORE. Shirley

Honestly...I am struggling to maintain. I just got back from vacation and ate a ton while I was in Detroit. I have decided to go back to meetings and try to formally make lifetime there instead of just doing it on the computer. It seems so easy for everyone else but I find maintaining harder than losing. It is the change in focus that makes it difficult. So it goes...

Xena~Are you doing anything really different now? The reason I ask is that I think I'm finding maintaining so easy because I basically didn't change much when I went from losing to maintaining. I still workout a lot, I still eat mostly Core foods, and I still watch my portion sizes. Can you pin it down to something that is making maintaining hardest for you? I'd love to help you!!! Monica

Thanks! Sure...I have basically stopped eating exclusively core and I am no longer tracking. I know what it is .... I just have a hard time maintaining my focus when I am not actively losing. I am no longer "dieting" and therefore off plan. I am always fighting my sugar cravings. I just feel like I am weak at this point in my weight loss cycle. I focus...I do great...I achieve my goal...I lose my focus....I gain the weight...repeat.
I don't mean to sound whiney...it is just so frusterating because I know exactly what I am doing to gain it back but that doesn't seem to stop me. So back to meetings I go tomorrow even though I hate to spend the money. Thanks for listening to my rant...I appreciate it.

you are worth the money on meetings....I really encourage lifetime members to keep doing what worked for them to lose the weight, which is to attend the meetings weekly. It really does make a difference with your focus, even if it is just because you take the time every week for yourself. If you need to pay for a while to lose a little, it will come off so much faster than just checking in monthly. Keep going every week until you reach goal and keep going after you get there (it'll be free again.)

I agree. Continue going to meetings. If you can't go every week, then go every 2 weeks, or as often as you can.
The lesson I learned this time is that my focus can not change just because I am maintaining. I am still doing the same things and eating the same things as I have been. The term "lifestyle change" is not just a cliche. It's the only way I'm going to be successful at maintenance. In reaching the goal of Lifetime, instead of looking at it as the end, it has become a new beginning.

HI all. Well I went back to meeting this morning. I am five lbs over my goal weight which definitely isn't the end of the world. I am going to lose that and then make lifetime and then keep going to the meetings at least once a month. There is something about sitting there and then knowing that I have to weigh in again in a week that is inspirational. I appreciate everyone's support. I just am trying to figure out how all the pieces fit together.

Cynthia, good job for going to your meeting and facing that scale. If you read on the "Lifetimers" board on WW, you will see so many returning Lifetimers who refused (denial) to WI until they were WAY over their goal weight. They say that 5 lbs. is nothing, what really hurts is 10, 20, and 30 lbs. So, look at it that way. Do it in baby steps. You first went to a meeting. Now you need to fill your house with awesome Core foods. Then in a few days try a new recipe. Baby steps, I'm a firm believer in baby steps!!! I live in fear of going to a meeting, getting weighed, and having the receptionist tell me that I have to pay. That fear is a HUGE motivator for me to stay OP and keep the weight off. What you did couldn't have been easy. Now it's done and you know what you have to do. I'm still finding new foods to eat on Core. A few weeks ago it was edamame (YUM) and this week it was lentils. Keep it interesting and never forget how good it feels to be at goal and look so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're here for you!!!!!!!! Monica

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your amazing support. It really does mean a lot to me to have a place to confess my failures (not something I am very good at) and plan for the future.
You are all my Core Angels...I am so thankful.
