Have you heard of Steve Vaught? He's the morbidly obese guy who's completing a year-long walk across the US. www.fatmanwalking.com/In a teaser on the Today show this morning, I heard him make what I think is the most profound statement about weight loss that I've ever heard. He said, "I thought I needed to lose weight in order to be happy. But I've found that I needed to be happy in order to lose weight."Enough said. He'll be interviewed live on the Today show tomorrow (Wednesday) after he completes his walk this evening.

That quote is SO TRUE!!!-- and I can think of some people I know who should read it. I can't say I was either unhappy or happy with myself when I decided to try WW, but I think what he means is you have to like yourself enough to want to do something just for you...whether it's lose weight, run a marathon, get a new job, go back to school...whatever. And so many people just don't like themselves enough to change. I have found that once you are happy with yourself you are more able to make changes, because you are doing "it" for you, not for the recognition or to show up someone else.
Thanks for sharing!

I think this is exactly why WW and I worked this time. Before I always joined because I was so unhappy with myself. Thanks for posting Kathy. I will watch for this interview now. Katie
