I found 98% ff ground round at Krogers. I bought a pound and divided it into 4 4oz. patties and froze. For the sauce I thawed one out.
Wedge of onion Slice of bell pepper Small rib of celery Mushrooms Carrots
Chop and saute in 1 tsp olive oil. When soft add hamburger and saute until all pink is gone. Season to taste with garlic salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and a piece of bay leaf. Add one 8 oz. can of tomato sauce, a splash of red wine and 1 pkt of splenda. Bring to a bubble, turn heat down to simmer covered for 30 to 45 minutes. Yummy!!!!!!! Good enough to eat on its own.
