This is my "I want something for supper, but I only have 5 minutes to put it together at lunch" version of beef stew. It tastes wonderful, is thick and filling, and best of all it doesn't take long to prepare.
1 lb. lean chunked beef (I use lean stew meat) 1 pkg. stew vegetable mix (with new potatoes and pearl onions) 1 pkg. onion soup mix 2 beef boullion cubes 1 sm. can tomato sauce 2-4 c. water 2 tsp. Parsley 1 Tbsp. Basil 1 tsp. Black Pepper 1 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder (or 2 minced cloves)
Put everthing in the crockpot. Use enough water to cover all the ingredients. Turn on high for 4-6 hours (or until meat is tender).
