I just remembered why I don't visit the Weight watcher board too often anymore. The people are so rude. Some remarks sicken me. If they can't say something nice, why don't they just keep their mouths shut? I would love to write a note and tell them all how I feel, but they would love it. Sorry, Just venting.

Hi Josh, unfortunately those are the comments I hear all too often, both here at kippy's and in my weekly meeting. I'm so thankful for the respectful, caring people here. Katie

I hear ya, Josh. I only visit the Core board occasionally and even there it can get bad sometimes, although on the whole the girls and guys on that board seem nice. But the other boards...I just don't bother. Even to just lurk and read, and not participate....makes me sad. You wonder how these people have the time to plan to be mean to each other each day. Anyway...post here instead!! At Kippy's we respect each other.

The core board is the nicest but it was the core board where someone made the comment that the sound of a certain recipe made her throw up. She could have kept that remark under her hat, even if she did feel like that. It's good to hear others feel this same way I do. People on this board have always been respectful.

There is a lot of self-righteousness on the core board. It's really sad to see many of the successful corbies talking down to people in the name of being "blunt". Chases people away.

Hi Pookie, I got your message. Thanks for your reply.
It really is too bad about some of the comments by people. An old saying, "Totally lacking in swave and class."

That kind of behavior seems to pop up on most of the WW boards. The one place I haven't noticed it (yet?) are the fitness boards. I have been hanging out there a bit lately. I agree - it is sad!

Not to deny your experiences, which I'm sure are quite real, but I have to say that people have always been helpful to me on the core and vegetarian boards.
What they've lacked for me is that warm, friendly, encouraging atmosphere that Kippy's members are filled with. I go there for the occasional question, but this is where I'll stay!

Well, I took a look at this and had to write about my DISGUST with another board - not WW. I used to LOVE a particular website and actually was asked to send in my BIO to promote it. Well, all was fine, except decided that they would highlight a particular person - he became their 'Jared'.
It didn't take long for this person to get a BIG head. And the comments he would make to other people were just horrible. Other people would then lash back at him. I think he is still their 'key model', but I don't visit the site anymore. I was just too turned off.
I've not been following the CORE in the last 6 months - but I am back to shed 5 and maintain. I don't go to the WW site, because there is too much to filter through to get to the stuff I want. This site works for me and I don't feel like I'm being isolated for not being in a "CLICK".

It's turned into high school lately. And I don't mean that in a good way. Perhaps junior high school would be more accurate.

I coudn't agree more. I think the WW board - esp. the GDT and the "pounds to lose" boards, are frequented by a group of young (or at least immature) brats. For the most part. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I find most of the people there to be pretty sad and mean. I agree that the Core board is the best of the bunch.

The 200+ message board on the Weight Watchers website has been a very nice community. They welcome people who have less than 200 pounds to lose even. I have been shocked at what I've seen on some of the other boards...clearly, WW just can't keep up with it all so it goes unchanged until people report the posts that are against the community guidelines. This site is such a sweet place and I hope it will always stay that way!

There's really no excuse for WW allowing such nonsense on their boards. All they need is a few moderators with the power to delete posts or lock threads. It's not as if WW doesn't have enough money to do that.
