I am analyzing food and weigh in, water retention and salt.
The day before weigh in what foods would you NOT eat because you believe that the salt in them would hold on to water that would show up on the scale.
For me I am seeing sushi as a big one. How about you?

I avoid soy sauce and vinegar the day before weigh in.

I don't avoid anything. I just try to drink more water.

Vinegar? How come? I just read an article claiming that vinegar helps you lose weight.

It may help you lose weight, I don't know anything about that. But I do know that, for me, causes water retention for a day or so. So I stay away from it the day before weigh in. Otherwise, I don't avoid vinegar at all.

I am lucky in that I have a very early weigh-in Sunday mornings. I do tend to watch what I eat the day before - overall - but haven't really paid attention to the sodium content.

I dont really pay much attention to sodium. I figure I am eating so little processed food now I dont have to worry about it as much. I have heard some people talk about a high sodium day and then their fingers look like sausages?! I have never had such a problem. I try to drink all my water though. I figure if my weight is up due to water weight its just water. I dont know..i just figure if its up every week due to water weight I wont know the difference.kwim? Im not in this to lose water...Im in it to lose fat! Lol

my fingers NEVER look like sausages and my ankles never swell, but I can see that sometimes I retain water, according to the scale.

I haven't noticed much difference with sodium, but I don't eat a lot of it. I will not have popcorn in the evening before my Sunday a.m. WI. I also don't have pasta or potatoes or something kind of carb-heavy on Saturday evening. Otherwise, I just drink a lot of water on Saturday and carry on.

I read that article on vinager--in Women's World--not sure there is much truth to that! Love the magizene but every week they have a new diet break through!
As to sodium, yes we dont eat the processed junk--but have you noticed how HIGH in sodium fat free cheeses are!! one slice of ff american cheese is like 300 mg sodium (and i never eat only one!)
