For some reason e-tools keeps kicking me out when I try to track. But I at least figured out I had about 8 points for dinner, plus 6 APs for spinning so I know I definitely did not use 14 points. I am heading out to work and today is a day I am in between meetings so I eat in my car, I made some extra chicken fingers and I have some cut up fruit. Don't have a plan for dinner tonight - which is not a good plan - I'm thinking maybe fish. I have to stop at the grocery store this afternoon anyway so I'll pick something up.
Hope you both have a good day!
-Beth

That is a bummer about e-tools. It should work if you are paying for it!
I am very stressed out this morning mostly about work stuff. I eat when I get stressed so I really need to focus today and not get side tracked by my worries. It is hard to not want to dive in a bucket of chocolate chip cookies when I feel this way. It is comforting but of course destructive. So to comfort myself to day I will try and relax, exercise, watch a movie and focus on healthy food. One day at a time... it is so hard to not worry about the future.

Well I guess the best thing about the way they track AP now is that if you work out a lot during the week you can really relax and enjoy yourself on the weekend. I earned 21 AP this week so now I have hit sunday and still have 14 points left to enjoy. Maybe this is why they changed it.
Food was fine yesterday but not any where near following the guidelines. (I ate a snickers bar for lunch!) So today I will focus back on the guidelines and try to stay on the healthy side of eating.
How are you folks doing?

Hello and good morning! Hope everyone is doing fine and had a nice weekend. I had a good one - didn't do much - ate OK - got in the exercise I missed during the week - lost 1 lb. (my WI on Sun. a.m.) - we'll see if that shows up tomorrow at WI at work. Mini-goal for the week: I'm trying to stop my negative self-destructive thoughts which make me feel worse than my eating and exercise habits make me look. I'm doing OK (with WW). All I do when I get dressed in the morning is say to myself how fat I am. I have to stop. (I did put that stop sign in DBF's snack drawer!)

Good morning,
Cathy: Congrats on you -1 lb. Way to go! I am also down 1 lb today at weigh in this morning. Happy happy joy joy.
Lots of positive talk for all of us! We all work, take care of our families, and taking care of ourselves is nothing short of a miracle. We should have choirs singing behind us every time we eat a piece of fruit or exercise.
Keep on. How are things going Beth?

Hey guys-
It's so great to hear from you. Congrats to you BOTH on losing a pound - that is awesome. At my weigh in on Friday I was up 1.4 - but I got my period this past weekend so I'm sure that was part of it. This was the first time, in a long time, that I actually TRACKED over the weekend. It is really hard to calculate WPA with restaurant food, but I am going to try and get through the rest of the week without using any extra points and just my daily.
So - both food and exercise have been pretty decent for me. On Saturday morning I watched 30 Minute Meals and I jogged during the show and walked during the commercials. Today I was able to go spinning, which is always an awesome workout. We are supposed to have 70 degree temps tomorrow so I am going to plan on getting in a good walk (40 minutes is 2 APs for me).
Cathy - you are right about that negative thinking - it does more harm than good. Even though you are up 10 pounds - it could be 20 or 30. So you've been maintaining this weight for awhile - which means you've put a lot of good/healthy habits into place. I am at exactly the same place you are - I've been about 10 pounds over goal for about 15 months. While I'm not happy about it, I know it could be worse. So while I am 10 pounds up - I am still 65+ down - and it's been 3 years. I try and think of that (glass half full v. half empty) and look at old photos. I do want to get back to goal, of course, as I know you do also, but we have to not be so hard on ourselves.
Hope you both have a good week - and you are good and kind to yourselves! Me too.
-Beth

Have a good day today!! Congrats on the 1 lb. loss, Cynthia! Beth - you are so right and it was good for me to read it. No matter what happens today at WW at Work WI ... I will just keep on. Better than going backwards.

Hi girls - Top of the morning to ya - or whatever they say (I'm Jewish - don't ask me!) Weather here today is glorious - supposed to get into the low 70s although my computer says 61 right now. Definitely planning on a walk today. I have a very dear friend who is dealing with depression - I am trying to get her to walk with me. Any suggestions? I have no personal experience with this. Of course I just want to yell SNAP OUT OF IT but I know that is silly. I'm just trying to check in with her as much as I can.
I'm doing well this week, tracking, exercising, etc. Went out to dinner last night and had salmon over a salad - it was great. Tonight I am making grilled turkey cutlets - looking for a recipe but I will probably end up using a bottled marinade.
Hope you are having a good day!

I have some experience with depression in those around me. I guess my advice would be two fold: 1: You can 't fix it or make it better and they probably can't snap out of it. 2: You can encourage them to get professional help (medical and/or psychological) and to reach out to others. Exercise is great to help with depression so there is no harm there... Good luck to you and your friend. Here is a link with some more info: www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/depression.htmlI went and picked up my Lieutenant's badge today which was very exciting. ;D I did it. I am a Lieutenant in the SFFD! So of course I went out with my best friend and ate a pile of pancakes to celebrate. Therefore my points for the day are shot but I am pretty full so I should be able to get away with a light dinner. It is a good day. I am thrilled with my badge number as well since it is all my lucky numbers--- #2388. Life is good. Nothing but positive talk here..including the pancakes...they were delicious.

Beth - I'm sorry about your friend's depression. Cynthia has some good advice, I don't have much experience with it. She is lucky to have a good friend like you!
Congrats Cynthia on that Lieutenant status & badge!! ;D Pancakes to celebrate sounds good to me, especially if only a light dinner follows. Good for you.

Cynthia - congrats - how exciting! You must be so proud to have accomplished that. Thanks also for the link. I haven't done much research. Cathy, thanks for your kind words. I don't feel like a good friend because I want to fix it and I can't. I really feel like there are a lot of things in her life that she needs to take control of, and she's the only one that can do that. I did get her out for a walk yesterday - even though it was a low intensity one I hope it was good for her.
Just got home from work. I need to leave in a few minutes to pick up from school. We are solo tonight - DH is volunteering. I think I am going to make some WW pasta w/veggies and a veggie burger for dinner. The weather is back down in the 50s with no sunshine - they are talking about some possible snow at the end of the week - I hope they are WRONG!
Hope you're having a great day!

Hi friends,
Thanks for the congrats! It is a high honor. I stand on the shoulders of giants!
Food was better today then yesterday. I even went on a 20 minute power walk with Max this evening to the library just to get out and move a bit. He was happen to get some new books from the series he is reading right now.
I am starting to see the results of losing 7 lbs. It is showing in my pants mostly which feels great. This is usually the point where I start feeling like I have done my thing...drop WW and promptly gain back 7 lbs. But not this time. I am only 2 lbs. away from my original goal so I am sticking with it. Losing %5 of my body weight would be great. Then I will set a new goal and stay focused. After all we are only on week 2.5 at this point.
It is really helping to check in with both of you every day. It makes me accountable not only to you but to counting my food and to myself. More tomorrow. Have a good evening!

Good morning my friends on the move! Sounds like we are all moving this week! You have inspired me to do a quick walk this morning - walk Spencer to school and then keep walking! Even if I can do a half hour, it's better than nothing.Unfortunately, my I-pod is busted, so I'll just have to sing to myself Haven't any ideas for food today. I'd like to eat light with my WI being tomorrow. I have some tilapia in the freezer that maybe I'll take out and make for dinner. I don't know what I'm feeling like for breakfast, but I guess since it's 7:45 I need to figure it out! Cynthia - good for you on those loose pants. I would be doing BACKFLIPS if I lost 7 pounds!!! Have a good day friends! -Beth

Hey all - I wish I could say I was exercising regularly, I guess I could say it, now I have to do it. Things happen to mess up my routine, I hate that. Sat. is usually a "rest day" but I'll do a tape while laundry is going. Tonight and tomorrow exercise for sure. I'm little by little taking just a little less food (giving it to DBF) at dinner. I never feel true "hunger" and I don't eat until I'm feeling full but obviously there's too much going into my stomach. Oh for 7 lbs.!! Sigh. I agree, Beth - that would be backflip time. Cynthia, great accomplishment and you cannot backslide with us here to cheer you on! Talk to ya's later!

Good afternoon,
Well I got my exercise for the day...whether I wanted it or not. High rise hose drill lugging 2 1/2" hose line and dragging it 250" on my knees in full airpack, infared camera, tool belt etc. I was sweating like a dog by the time we got done. My knees hurt and my back is sore. What a crazy ass job I have...I love it...but it's crazy.
Got back to station and ate about 4 cups of fruit salad. I was so hungry. But it was very core/filling foods. I stayed away from the butter ladden garlic bread and only had a cup of pasta. Probably should drink more water too...
Ahh 7 lbs. Well I am starting at a much high starting point then you folks so it is definitely easier to lose a big number. You should be proud of your numbers. I am trying to look at it more as a % of my weight then just pounds.
So now a nap, maybe a movie, possibly a small drill for the crew this afternoon and away we go...
