I am doing the 8 min in the morning (plus warm up and cool down) this week to see how I like it. I get bored with exercise so fast, and this has different routines for 28 days. I start tomorrow morning.

Wonderful! So is this more excercise than you normally get?

I had kind of slacked off with exercise. So today I did my abs, the 10 min by Jorge (with 5 lb wts), 40 min on my mini bike while I read the boards, and soon I go to town to get my walk done. (The cougar has been spotted again, so no walks through the woods until she moves on.) I am trying to get between 6 and 10 AP's a day. Trying to break this plateau.

Hi Blondie and Buttons (your no longer alone at the ranch).
I am going to join you in the exercise challenge. I am currently walking about 50 minutes/3X a week and doing the elyptical machine for about 40 (2X a week). I will bump them both up by 10 minutes. The walking one is really important since I am going to do the Breast Cancer Walk in July. Have to get those feet moving over longer distances.

I'm a lazy lazy woman. so exercise challenge for me ;D This morning I did about 15 min of yoga with 5 min. at the end for meditation and breathing. And I managed to get out of bed 1/2 hour earlier for it, so for me. Does that count? Apparently today I need extra validation jeanne

Getting up early counts double in my book. Here is an interesting tidbit from page 78 of the new WW Weight Loss That Lasts book (which I highly recommend.) "One randomized, controlled wight-loss study found that women who participated in a structured activity regimen (in this case, aerobic exercise classes) had the same results as those who increased time and effort spent doing everday chores." So, for those of us who have problems with scheduled activities, we can get the same benefits out of cleaning house, weeding, planting flowers, etc as we can from going to a gym. I have now finished my 2 hour walk. So am going to veg for the rest of the day.

I haven't been working out at all, despite the recent treadmill purchase. You know, never enough time, too tired, sick blahblah sameoldsameoldexcuses.
So I'll be starting the couch to 5k program tomorrow. Anyone care to join me?

How I came up with the 10 minutes/day thing is this: I read a book on weight management (LEARN Program) that says that by adding 10 minutes of activity a day to your normal routine isn't going to feel as invasive as say 30 minutes 3x/week. So even if you've never done any activity before, 10 minutes will feel like cake!
Make sense?

I have a question. By adding 10 minutes a day, do you mean 10 minutes to my daily routine for the week or do you mean a cumulative thing? for example 10 minutes today, another 10 for a total of 20 minutes tomorrow, etc.
I'm assuming you meant the former.
I was doing WATP faithfully every morning until the holidays hit and then I stopped. I just started again this morning with the 1-mile (20 min).

If you regularly did 30 minutes of exercise a day last week, do 40 minutes of exercise a day this week.
If you didn't do any exercise a day last week, do 10 minutes of exercise a day this week.
Not 10 minutes today, 20 minutes tomorrow, etc.
Sorry for the confusion!

Well, I forgot to check the challenges out until tonight, so going out at lunch today is out of the question . And I've been hoping to find the dumbbells (moved recently), but haven't. So, tonight I pulled some canned goods out of the pantry for dumbbells and used those plus I did some regular old pushups, situp/crunches, leg lifts.
