I think I've mentioned, on this thread or another, that I fit into some pants that I hadn't been able to wear. Well, yesterday I went looking for a couple of tops to wear with them, and some shorts to exercise in. Well, I've worn 24 forever (it seems), and had gotten some 22s (what I've recently fit into -- I lost 17 pounds a couple of years ago, then gained all but six back). Well, for some reason, on sort of a whim, I decided to slip into an 18/20 -- and they fit! Okay, they're on the snug side of fitting -- it would definitely have taken a 20 rather than an 18 -- but this is really major for me! It's been a good fifteen years or more since I've crammed myself into a 20.

Talk about motivating.... congratulations I had a pair of pants I put on last night that I hadn't worn in a year and last time they were tight enough to border being indecent! Last night they looked great. Here's to "what a feeling"

I did that the other day and it was almost spookey. I went for my "normal" size and it was so big I didnt have to undo the zipper. so I tried another size down a 20 and it was still a bit big. I was to afraid to try on the 18. I was in Torrid which is for bigger gals so I think their stuff runs a bit big. but still I was pretty darn happy!!!!!!!!!!! I want to buy a dress from them so bad but for 60 bucks I dont want it to not fit in another two months.

planty, that is so cool I felt the same way about buying anything other than what I need to get through the spring -- I wanted soooo bad to try on a really cute outfit, but I knew better than to try it on -- if it had fit in the 20, I don't think I could have kept myself from buying it.

And guess what really dumb thing I did:
Earlier, during the winter, I bought a really nice pair of pants that were a bit too snug. Usually when I do that, they just get snugger, which may be why I forgot all about them. Well, I thought about them and tried them on yesterday, thinking they would be a nice pair of pants to have the last few weeks of school (they're pretty much an all-weather weight).
Well, silly me. They are now way too big to wear -- at all. They aren't elastic waist or draw-string (like so many of mine are), and they come up to a bit below my waist. When I put them on this morning, I found that I I could pull them right back off without unfastening them.
Talk about conflicting feelings. (They weren't terribly cheap, as I remember.)

Kelli, I know the feeling. I've done the same thing. Do you know someone or could you alter them to fit. Often times ready made clothing is constructed in such a way that they would easily be taken in. Might be worth checking out. Anyway congats on the smaller sizes.

Thanks for the congrats I've got someone I've started passing on my "undergrown" clothes to -- she has yard sales to help support herself and two children, and I know larger size clothes sell well in yard sales. (p.s. I got a couple of shorts outfits yesterday, and one of the tops was a plain old "extra large." Okay, so I know it was a style and brand that run big, but that's still a biggie for me ;D -- pun not intended, but intentionally kept )

Undergrown clothes !!! what a hoot. I started cleaning out my closet yesterday of all the clothes I've undergrown. I have piles for different people. About the only thing left in my wardrobe that I can keep from 60lbs ago is my socks. I've had to replace everything else.
