Susie, that advice is great and I will remember it. thanks. I have been getting compliments on my weight loss and say thanks, but then I go on to say I want to lose another 40#. they are shocked :oand express concern that I want to lose that much more. maybe I shouldn't say anything other than "thanks" and "I am feeling great!" what do you think? ;D

I'm a new member to this Board but it comes highly recommended by another group I belong to. I initially tried to do CORE when it was first introduced last year but found that I was not particularly successful because of my lack of mindful eating. This is a wonderful thread and I am going right now to prepare my lunch and make every effort to eat it mindfully. I just joined today and already have learned so much. Thank you Susie! ;D

Oh Susie I love your response to Mama! Even though I haven't lost that much yet it is noticible to some and I actually get almost angry when someone says "you look so much better". I want to say dumb things like, "I'm sorry you had to be nice to me and talk to me when I was so horrible looking."

Dennes - I love your quote (under Garfield). I will have to remember that one.

I think a solution to eating in front of the computer or at your desk at work is to just make time for yourself. Make time for yourself to get up away from your desk and sit outside to eat your lunch. Make time for yourself to sit at your kitchen table or on your porch and eat a meal. Commit yourself to some down time to think and enjoy your meal instead of rushing all the time and throwing foods in our mouths.
