So, things have been pretty off-track for me lately. I spent the summer in Paris, and let myself go completely off plan -- but thanks to all the walking, I only gained about 4 pounds in those two months (not bad, considering that I was eating a pain au chocolat everyday!). But since I've been back, I've let stress get the best of me -- and I'm scared to even get back on the scale. I've decided that tomorrow I am back on track, officially, and am going to do Core by the book. I worked too hard to lose that first 35 or 38 lbs to gain it back!

Today's weigh in -- the first for a few weeks -- was scary, but not as scary as I thought. I'm at 197, which is 5 lbs over my lowest weight, and basically what I weighed when I got back from Paris. It's about 37 lbs from my goal weight, though, so I've got a long way to go!
B'fast: cream of wheat, ff milk, sugar (.5 tsp), banana
Snack: none! bad idea, because it meant that I was starving by lunch
Lunch: 1/2 veggie burger, 1/2 portabello mushroom burger (3 pts for roll, 1 pt for cheese, 1 pt for condiments), unsweetened ice tea, 2 pts for bits and bites
Snack: orange, ff latté
Dinner: ww pasta, tomato sauce (2 tsp EVOO), salad (2 pts for EVOO and cheese)
WPA's: 7.5 F/V: xxxxx Dairy: xx
That leaves me 27.5 WPA's for the week

Today the life stress eased considerably, but not completely. My life is a mess. Shoot.
B'fast: 2 fried eggs (1 tsp EVOO), tomato and onion chutney, banana
Snack: large ff latté
Lunch: quizno's honey bourbon chicken sub with extra veggies (6 pts)
Snack: popcorn (1 tsp EVOO), banana, few bites of ham from my dd's dinner
Dinner: chili con carne with extra beans (1 tsp EVOO -- 1 pt), ff sour cream and cheese topping (1 pt), corn, fruit cocktail
WPA's: 8, which leaves 19.5 for the week F/V: xxxxxxx Dairy: xx
So, basically my problem is lunches -- I've gotten out of the habit of planning ahead for lunch, which means that I'm choosing not very Core-friendly options at the last minute. That will change as of tomorrow -- that pot of chili I cooked for dinner tonight is BIG!

Aruna, I have actually met goal and made lifetime in late August. I claim my dr.'s recommendation of 175 as goal, but wanted to lose 10 more for my personal goal. This has been the most amazing journey for me. I knew from the moment I decided to rejoin WW that core was for me. I've never looked back. Our lifestyle has a big impact on my success. Our children are all grown, and DH works 2 jobs and is not home till 8 or 9 pm. So for the first time in 26 years I got to cook what I wanted to eat, and I had a wonderful time doing that. Also we do not have a very full social calendar so I didn't have to work around that. Our kids, for the first time in their lives , have a thin mom. Our girls are really proud, and it kind of freaks our boys out. They are proud too, but both live out of state and haven't seen me slowly shrink. They only saw me before I started, Christmas and then at almost goal. Our oldest daughter has now joined and has lost 20lbs. She's been heavy since she was 11 or so. I'm so proud of her for making a committment to her health. Sorry to take up so much of your space. I'm kind of a core fanatic.lol Take care and have a great week Katie

I did really well today... sort of. I fell down, I will admit, with the need for comfort/sweet tooth satisfactions. But it wasn't a disaster. And I didn't even have to pay for my own lunch! (I complained last week to the manager of the food court at my college because an employee was rude to me, and now he buys me lunch everytime I see him!)
B'fast: cream of wheat, ff milk, sugar (1 pt)
Snack: ff latté
Lunch: veggie and ham sub on ww roll (3 pts) with lite mayo (1 pt?), fruit
Snack: canned peaches
Dinner: squid, bell pepper, and spinach stir fry, brown rice, grapes, cookie (2 pts)
WPA's: 7, which leaves only 5.5 for the rest of the week F/V: xxxxx Dairy: xxx

Hectic weekend, didn't manage to keep up -- or to stick to my WPA's. I probably went 10 over for the week. Ugh. Here's what happened on Saturday: B'fast: cream of wheat w/ ff milk, sugar (.5 pt), banana Snack: ff latté Lunch: nachos and cheese sauce ? there was literally no choice -- I was at an alpaca farm, and this was all that was on offer, I swear! (5 pts?) Snack: scrambled egg and ham, banana Dinner: broiled teriyaki fish, steamed asprobroc (!!!), barley pilaf Sunday would have been fine -- except for the random cookie binge in the middle of the day. B'fast: eggs, tomatoes and onion, banana Snack: ff latté Lunch: skinless rotisserie chicken, lentil soup Snack: 4 chewy choc chip cookies (8 pts!!!!) Dinner: polenta, sautéed beet greens, steak Which leaves me 8 points over for the week.

Didn't bother weighing in today, because of my TOM. I feel really gross. Trying to eat clean this week.
B'fast: leftover polenta (.5 pt), fried eggs (1 tsp EVOO)
Snack: none
Lunch: lentil and vegetable soup, leftover rotisserie chicken, banana, cookie (2 pt)
Snack: fruit cocktail, ff latté
Dinner: dal (.5 tsp EVOO) and brown rice, eggplant (1.5 tsp EVOO), pineapple, fig newton (1 pt)
WPA's: 4, which leaves 31 for the week F/V: xxxxx Dairy: x
Did well on fruits and veggies, and got all my water in for once! But I'm having trouble with the need to have something "sweet" after dinner -- gotta try and get out of that.

Rushed out the door this morning -- my usually reliable dd didn't wake up at 7 am, like she usually does! We all slept in, so I had to grab a b'fast on the run, which cost some points.
B'fast: latté, blueberry muffin (4 pts?)
Snack: none
Lunch: lentil and veggie soup (.5 tsp EVOO), orange
Snack: popcorn with 1 tsp EVOO, banana
Dinner: beef borscht with lots of veggies (.5 tsp EVOO), ff sour cream, low fat ice cream (2 pt)
F/V: xxxxx Dairy: x WPA: 6, which leaves 25 for the week

Aruna, I'm so glad you're back with us at the Kippy Journals. I always looked forward to seeing how you were doing.
You'll get back in your old routine and things will line out for you. It's hard when you have a family to take care of too and a job.
I love CORE. I'm learning to cook all kinds of new things. Right now I'm into the steel-cut oats and sweet brown rice.
Oh, a good winter snack is ff pudding cook'n serve. Love it! Try it for your sweet stuff. I add a few mini marshmallows (low points) on top.
Have a great CORE week!
Sandy
